Stabalising

As the name might suggest this is all about getting rid of unwanted camera shake. I started by importing my footage into After Effects, created a new composition from it,made sure that the frame rate is set to 25 frames a second and that the tracker control window is open. I then selected "stabalize" motion from the tracker control window. A new track point is created in the composition window. The inner frame of the track point should have its corners in an area of high contrast i.e each corner in as much of a corresponding tonal area as possible. The outer frame is then the sample area that is compared to the inner frame. The next step is to hit analyze forward (symbolized by the play button in the tracker control) and then a set of keyframes illustrating the camera's movement are drawn up. Finally one needs to hit apply (making sure that it's set to X & Y when you do it) and then one simply scales up the final image to hide the straying the stabilized footage does from the frame.
